Summer Love

Horseback Riding Camp in NC.

Summer, Track-out, and Teacher Workdays for children ages 5 and up.

Camp Activities*:

1.       Western Style Horseback Riding Lessons

a.   Tacking up: blanket, saddle, and bridle

b.   Riding: balance, coordination, and control of the horse

c. Guided trail rides each day (riding helmets provided)

d. Horse care: grooming, feeding, shoeing demonstration, and general healthcare

2.       Deluxe jungle gym set

3.       Above-ground swimming pool (adult supervised)

4.       Nature walks

We make every effort to ensure that each child rides every day, but if the weather is prohibitive, the children:

1.       Can assist the guides in doing barn chores

2.       Learn to clean and oil tack

3.       Watch movies (many horse movies to choose from)

4.       Play foosball

* Children ages 5 and up can participate in our horseback riding camp. Children must be 7 and up to ride on their own.

Items to send with your child to camp each day:

1.       Plenty of bottled water (at least 4 bottles)

2.       Bathing suit

3.       Towel

4.       Change of clothing (wear long pants for riding, bring shorts for the afternoon)

5.       Tennis shoes

6.       Lunch

7.       Two snacks

8.       Bugspray and sunscreen are optional

Because our horseback riding camp can fill up quickly, we recommend that you register early. This is especially true for children under the age of 7 because each 5 and 6 year old has to have their own dedicated guide, and those resources are limited.

If you'd like to ask questions of a parent whose child has attended our camp, you can send an email to Anna Brozell or David Waller, and they will share with you their child's experience at our horseback riding camp. They will try to answer any questions you may have regarding their experience and what your child's experience might be like. Additional references are available upon request.
